Missing Piece Replacement Policy

Look, we get it.

Reaching the end of a 1,000-piece masterpiece only to find a gaping hole at the finish line is the absolute worst.

It’s frustrating, it’s annoying, and frankly, it’s just not the vibe we’re going for.

If your puzzle truly left our warehouse without its full team of 1,000 pieces, we’re going to make it right.

The Real Talk on Replacements

Because our puzzles are manufactured in large, specific batches, the “die-cut” (the way the pieces are shaped) changes slightly from run to run.

This means we cannot ship individual replacement pieces — they simply won’t fit your specific puzzle.

Instead:

  • We’ll send you a brand-new, sealed replacement box of the same design
  • If that design is sold out, you can choose another puzzle of equal value

Before You Email Us: The “Search Party” Audit

Before we trigger a replacement, we ask that you do one final sweep. Puzzle pieces are master hiders.

Please check:

  • The usual suspects: Under the rug, inside couch cushions, or deep in the vacuum bag
  • The “guilty” party: Under the dog’s bed or in the cat’s “secret stash”
  • The box: The plastic bag and all corners of the box
Note: Since a replacement means starting over from scratch (because the new pieces won’t fit the old ones), it’s always worth one last look.

How to Claim Your Rescue Puzzle

If the piece is truly AWOL, follow these steps:

  1. Snap a “Hole Pic” — Send a photo of your completed puzzle showing the missing piece(s)
  2. Find Your Order # — Shopify, Amazon, or TikTok Shop
  3. Send the Evidence

Only valid for purchases from:

  • Our Amazon store
  • Our official TikTok Shop
  • If you bought it second-hand or at a thrift store… you’re on your own there, champ.
  • Claims must be submitted within 60 days of purchase

We stand by the quality of our puzzles and want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. If your puzzle arrives defective, you can return it for a full refund or exchange within 30 days of delivery.

How to Initiate a Return

  1. Contact Us: Please email us at info@whatthepuzzles.com within 30 days of receiving your order. In your email, include your order number, a description of the defect, and a photograph of the issue. This helps us quickly process your request and improve our quality control.


  1. Wait for Instructions: After we review your request, we'll send you an email with detailed instructions on how to return the defective item. Do not send the item back before receiving these instructions.


  1. Ship the Item: You'll be provided with a prepaid shipping label to return the defective puzzle. Please pack it securely to prevent any further damage during transit.
